Bollywood - the largest film industry of India and one of the largest in the world produces more than 1000 films per year. Bollywood has no longer just remained an entertainment industry.
Bollywood is now a business with a high risk -high returns. Film makers do all strategies to keep the common man attracted towards their film. Movies based on real life, ghost stories, sequels, Multi-hero movies, Remakes from South Indian movies, Script & Idea stealing from Hollywood, Musical romance, Cop stories etc. are the major themes for the hit list movies.
Filmmakers are really not experimenting anything creative, anything controversial other than those time-tested genres. My question is why is not Bollywood not experimenting like Hollywood or French film industry? Why Indian movies are still so much outdated? Why glamour , sex , love marriage and family drama scenes given more importance in our cinemas . Is this what it defines our cinema industry? When we compare indian movies to Hollywood flicks like Inception, Matrix, Dark Knight rises, Godfather, Titanic, Pulp fiction, our movies nowhere stands even last in the list.
Is it not the right time, our entertainment quotient be upgraded?

The only movie i like in recent time was Gangs of Wasseypore. Indian movies have same stories since 1975.
If one movie becomes hit, other producers copy and try to make money out of it.
Indian film Industry is treated as money making machine for producers and not as a art lab.
