Before asking whether banks provide credit cards for students, first understand that any financialo transaction or any transaction can be entered by a person who is eligible to do so.
In India, a person below 18 year cannot enter into an agreement and so anyone below 18 years of age cannot get credit card or conduct any financial transaction where contract or agreement is required. (Age is specified in Indian contract Act 1872).
If student is 18 or below he cannot get credit card.
If student is above 18 he can get credit card if he fulfills requirements.
The normal requirements banks ask for are:
Income details of the person, if student earns or is working while studying he can produce his income proof.
IT returns as income proof.
Id Proof and other KYC documents and CIBIL Score.
All bnaks will provide credit card if student fulfills the requirement.
Interest rates or charges are same as applicable to other card holders.
