Nokia was testing Android on its Lumia line prior to making the deal with Microsoft . The NYTimes reported that Nokia had Android functioning on its hardware long before the negotiations with Microsoft had started.
So.. Did Nokia use this as a bargaining factor to merge with Microsoft ??
Should nokia get into Android ?? Is it a slow decision on part of Nokia's Management ??

The issue was discussed earlier also on this forum. And it looks something was wrong in this deal. The dicision was taken by microsoft ceo. And Nokia CEO, and for information at the time Nokia ceo was ex-microsoft excutive.
Chances are that the deal was a fixed long ago, only it was a game to make nokia look weak and so that takeover could be at lower end.

Yes. Its a high time that nokia now can make a shift to android else all its phones are treated as non-smart phones.

The Nokia XL works on a forked version of the Android Jellybean 4.1.2, though it is heavily skinned to resemble the live tiles.
