Was discussing with a group, what could be the main intention of someone to start a business?
Is it only money or business may be started out of passion or to change the world in terms of new technologies?
If we take profit as sole motive, than why even socialistic or communist countries have Businessmans?

Profit is not the main motive but ofcourse the most weighted check to start the business.
First of all business can be classified majorly in four classes:
- Trading & mining including explorations
- Service Outsourcing
- Research and Development for self or others
If we consider the 2nd and 3rd points, than majority of business are for profit motive. And in case of 1 and 4 type of business, a professional touch is required and sometime people do these businesses for profit only and sometime to bring a change in products, or introduce new technology or improve health and also to earn while doing so.
