I am receiving few updates from Quikr. The updates are with respect to the accounting or taxation services required by people around bangalore. When i try to contact them by way of reverting to thier Ad's then nobody reverts to my reply. What is the reason for this ?

Even i had the doubt for this site. I saw their lot of ads on TV and thought to try it.

I beleive they have the highest number of ads. Compare to any classified site.

I remeber i saw an ad for tally software requirement. I called the person he talked for sometime and somedays.

After few days the number was disabled. It happened many time. Finaly i conducted a study on this matter.

And found that almost 95% ad on quikr and olx are fraud. These ads are not  posted by humans but the softwares that these website maintain.

They hire some people give them sims and ask them to talk as if they require the service. You can try any number on quikr, you will see that for few days they will reponde and than the number will be disabled.

This fraud is only in ads that require some service or which can give the revenue to advertiser.

If you are a new user on this site you will see that you will receive lot of enquiries through messages from quikr for your services and products.

And after some day they will send a message saying only 100Rs. a month and get 100 contact every day. Guys never subscribe to this fruaud site.

Some of the links that have complaints on this site are.

These websites do these kind of frauds to increase their visitors. And its very difficult for a non-techy guy to even realise that 100 Rs. he paid them was of new use.

And for quikr its just a business.

suppose 1 crore people pay them they get 100 crore. Other than these 100 crore they earn a lot by online ads.

How you can avoid these scams?

If you see a phone number or mail id on any site, copy the number or mail id and search in google, Go to google results and see if with same number or id if any other ad was also given. If other ads were given than compare whether all ads were same. For example if someone on quikr require CA service for his footwear business than on other website the ad should be related to footwear business only.

Second method is if you see someone representing himself for a big company than check his mail id. For example sometime you will receive a mail saying you got job in wipro. Than check his mail id, id should be something like this example@wipro.com and not wiprohr@gmail.com etc.

Its not that all ads are fake. But i agree 95% are fake. So if you are extra smart you can find those genuine 5% by technics discussed by pulkit in above reply.

Even the adds of Olax.com are fake only. If we call means they are speaking rudly & using vulagar lang.

Thanks for this wonderful thread. Really these classified sites are making fun of users. These are heaven for spammers.

Quikr is filled with spam posts and taking no actions to remove them. I believe site is concentrating on quantity rather than quality.

In long run it would be a disadvantage to sites like quikr.

Not all Quikr or Olx ads are fraud. There are some genuine too. Recently I was looking for 2bhk flat for rent in navimumbai and I got my deal instantly through Quikr.com within my budget. So, I think I was lucky user to get genuine deal so instantly. Now,Classififeds sites helps alot in property, job related searches.

I agree, some entries are genuine. But, SOME. Why cant they control the auto posts. Being the companies of such high level, they should be strict about spam policy.

Even i got few good contacts from there, but still the spam posts are far more than genuine one. Filtering genuine posts out of spams requires luck and time.

I agree with pulkit. The fake ads are more than the real one.

I would like to update on this. Now Quikr and OLX are moderating their advertisements and we can see the quality posts.

It is because of users like us who provide and share information we can see 2 of the leading websites moderating their content.

Hi Pallab,

Its a fraud thing, No company in world will ask you to pay money for job placement.

Yes, I believe that too, It is 100% a scam, while 5000 people continuously hit the classifieds on quikr they get money from ads on their websites, While premium ads from the scammer pays quikr money and the money from ads from the user finding jobs, it is very profitable for quikr. Nice Scam by Quikr, and it is such  a made scam that people can't even file a complaint due to it's terms and conditions so people don' t ever use quikr except only for its Buying selling just like OLX. OLX is 200 times better than Quikr which is a fraud.

Seems quikr is improving and they are moving away from listings to paid one and sponsored. They are trying to become flipkart of second hand items. Flipkart is failing, so will quikr.
