Tally is one of the most used accounting software in India. Many accounting firms discourage its use due to the security concerns it has got.

Very good. Now even if we forget the password or get a tally copy with password, can use this trick.
But agree tally has serious security concern to deal with. In business data is what really matters. And if data is not secured than tally may have limited days. Once people are educated regarding data security tally will have tough time.

This method is not working in tally 7.2 version. I am in serious problem. I myself locked a very important company data and forget the password. I have been trying many methods but failed. I tried this method also but after opening the company, there is no data in it. Kindly help

Use Tiktant if you want to catch up with fast moving world. It developed by chartered accountants.
You can restore either by going to restore option or pressing Alt+Ctr+R and select the backup to restore.
