Its not just Bengaluru but whole world should follow some basic rules.

  1. Carry your license and vehicle documents with you.
  2. Follow traffic rules.
  3. Follow No entry rules.
  4. Dont jump Traffic signals.
  5. Dont Bribe traffic police
  6. No over speeding

However when it comes to Bengaluru, the some specific unwritten rules are:

  1. Stay away from BMTC and Autos.
  2. Stay away from Honda activa drivers.
  3. Be aware of ladies driver.
  4. Traffic Police here are very corrupted, instead of controlling traffic they enjoy taking bribes. You will find them next to signal in hidden place.

Thank you, but its reality in Bangalore. You will find traffic police only next to a signal waiting for a catch. They are least bothered about traffic jams.
