Success story of Bank Bazaar is Incredible. The US returned guy made a succesful business plan and made millions. Today BankBazaar is a major player in Loan distribution business, and changed the way people go for Debt fundings.

The other NRI or foreing returned people who became successful enterpreneurs are:

  1.  Gaurav Aggarwal, Founder and CEO of Savaari Car Rentals

  2. Swati Bhargava, Cofounder and CEO of CashKaro

  3. Sameer Maheshwari and Prashant Tandon, Cofounders of HealthKart

  4. Kunal Bahl, Co-founder and CEO of Snapdeal

  5. Hitendra Chaturvedi, Cofounder of GreenDust

Most of the business plans they brought with them from foreign were already a successful business models in their another home country.

They successfully implemented those plans in India, with the expertise gained in foreign.

I have some friends who do things like, Copy a hot business idea already tested in USA and implement in India.

These may work sometime but fails mostly. But big businessese may sustain due to government involvements. For example, we can copy ideas in businesses where the FDI investment is restricted by government.
