Which State in India has the highest Suicides?
Total of 1,35,445 suicides were registered in 2012. The list of state with highest suicides is:
- Tamil Nadu - 16,927 suicides
- Maharashtra - 16,112 suicides
- West Bengal - 14,957
- Andhra Pradesh - 14,328 suicides
Family problems are taking 84 lives a day. Social and Economic causes are taking more lives. If we observe the list, all four states are considered as ahead of poor states such as Bihar and UP. But Suicides rate in these rate is alarming.
UP with population equal to population of these 4 states put together has less suicides. The states have 3 biggest cities of India.
Is city life the main cause of Suicides?
City life can be considered as one of the reason for suicides.
And shockingly now days the more suicides are by students for getting failed or pressure from parents.
As per the reasons for suicides in India are:

- Economic Condition
- Guilty feelings
Rajasthan is reported to have highest dual suicides (74). These dual suicides seems to be case of love failure.
Suicides in Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra are because of Debts. Farmers and people generally in Andhra takes loans from NBFC and commit suicides to avoid the gundagardi of these companies while recollecting the money.
