Procedure for Service Tax Registration in India
Procedure for Registeration of Service Tax is:
Go to the Aces website for Service Tax Registration
Fill the form, User Id and Password will be sent to registered Mail Id's
Login to the Account and fill ST-1 form
Take the print of form
Attach the documents to printed form (Address proof, PAN and government registerations if applicable)
Visit the Range officer
Give a copy of printed along with printed form to Range officer and obtain the aknowledgement (A receipt seal on the duplicate copy of printed form)
Within 7 days the registration will be completed by Service Tax department. Login to your Service Tax Account.
If Service Tax Registration is completed at department you will be able to see the form ST-2 in website.
Take the print out of form ST-2, visit the Range officer and get it sealed and signed by the officer. Range officer will ask the aknowledgement copy.
Care to be taken while registering for the Service Tax:
Form ST-1 should be printed in duplicate, one to submit to range office and another to keep as aknowledgement copy.
Range office will not issue signed ST-2 without aknowledgement copy.

ID and address proof (Residential) of proprietor, partners, directors etc also needs to be submitted along with the firms or company's documents.
