Indian History books are biased?

The Indian schools have lessons on Laden and american terror attacks, but don't have any lesson on the current history of India.

JayaPrakash Narayan, the person who challenged dictatorship of congress is the most notable person of modern history of India. Its really shocking to see no mention of him in books. He is the person who made democracy stron in India.

This is just one of many such example. Don't you think history books are politically biased in India?

The current history is always written in a manner to support whatever congress did. Its proved that 1962 war was lost due to mis-governance of Jawahar Lal Nehru, but we dont find it in books.

Our childrens are feed with wrong informations, Mugals are given more coverage and Maharana Pratap less.

Mugals are considered as patriotic Indians and Bhagat Singh not even shahid!!!

Civics is incomeplete without mention JP Narayan, but no one is concerned about it. Congress designs and prints the books to advertise itself.

Why we have books about personal life of Mahatma Gandhi but not on Jawahar Lal Nehru. Gandhi had high moral in personal life, and Nehru was opposite. Just because writing true history of Nehru will damage the image of Nehru family, the information should be hide!!!

Are Indian History books biased?

Yes, i read history books in school and still i have no idea of middle and earlier Indian History.

Our books are designed for what purpose? Just to fill the brains of students with wrong and partial information.

Praise the Mugals, draft British rule, and don't mention anything which have a positive impact on culture of Indians.

We never read about Mangal Panday in detail, neither Bhagat singh is given importance.

We keep saying India is a bad country with no unity and proper planning, this thinking came from our books that we read at school.

We learn that Yoga was originated in India from Baba Ramdev and history books are silent on this.

Generally the lessons in history books in Indian schools can be categorised like 80% Mugals, 18% British rule and rest how India is a bad country and Congress found it.

I feel both the above views of Pulkit and Prakash seems to be biased and anti-congress. Its become a fashion , pride ,intellectual rationalism being anti-congress.

Prakash mehta. actually it is you and Mr pulkit sharma who are taking anti-congress stand. so u have to prove it with enough and sufficient evidences. Do some research and post real facts and figures instead of talking very generally about politics
